This is ME – Donna Kruger – Socktologist & creative behind the cutie pies that are Sockimals. I love everything colourful but especially yellow (I still have my favourite yellow soft toy from my childhood). It’s the colour of the sun and sunflowers and if happiness was a colour, it would be yellow! I also LOVE any shade of blue, as it matches my eyes and reminds me of the sea & sky!
When I started sewing Sockimals, my younger sister Laura and I had a good giggle. We were sure my mom would be laughing at me trying to remember how to thread a machine, or trying to recall how to do certain embroidery stitches she had taught us as little girls. I’m sorry I didn’t pay more attention Mom! As the years have moved on, so my sewing and creative skills have progressed too. I’m certain she would be proud of what I’ve accomplished and the fact that I love every handcrafted Sockimal.
My faith is an integral part of who I am, I am uniquely and wonderfully made. I choose to believe the best in people and my Sockimals are the ideal icebreaker to start conversations with many new people.
